The 70s may be considered as an era that is quite complete in presenting the novelty of music in the world. Some musicians who are still relatively new in this industry often give birth to breakthroughs that become important records in the music world. In that era there were two music giants who dominated the world, namely rock and punk. So what happens when the two are put together? Postpunk. This genre of music is rooted in rock music in the late 1970s and early/mid 1970s punk rock. One of the genres that retains its roots in the punk movement but is more introverted, complex and experimental. Post-punk laid the groundwork for alternative rock by extending the direction of punk and underground music, incorporating elements from Krautrock (notably the use of synthesizers and extensive repetition). Found its place in the indie scene in the 1980s, it even led to the development of music genres such as gothic rock, industrial music, and alternative rock.

Underlining the word punk in the post punk music genre, this refers to the spirit and inspiration of punk music which is closely related to the spirit of DIY and the music style that is fairly raw and energetic. They then experimented with incorporating elements of 'avant garde' into their punk music. This uniqueness eventually became quite a specific characteristic of post punk, where they thickened a strong spirit of experimentation, until finally they were able to elaborate on gothic music, disco, funk to Krautrock. This does not mean that punk has completely disappeared, post-punk remains energetic and still discusses issues of art, politics and philosophy.Whether post punk is recognized or not, we will find its starting point in England where bands like Siouxsie and the Banshees, Wire and Joy Division have started experimenting with gothic and neo-psychedelia elements. Continuing to the 80s, bands that played post-punk began to combine elements of synthpop and other more mainstream pop music, so it's not surprising that at their output bands such as Magazine or Human League had quite good commercial success. .Talking about post punk became a pleasure for me, and because I liked it, I ended up studying a lot of bands that play this genre of music. For reference, or at least just for my music 'library'. Names like The Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Magazine, The Fall, Joy Division, Subway Sect, Neu Electrikk, Gang of Four, New Order, The Teardrop Explodes, The Sound, U2, The Psychedelic Furs, The Cure , The Jesus and Mary Chain, so a row of bands that in my opinion have a unique musical style. It's not just about post punk, actually, because in the development of their musicality, they also added several other elements to their music. Getting richer musically. And that's where the pleasure of listening to bands like this is.
